FAQ

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?

â–²

Tickets must be purchased in advance. If you would like to pay cash or check,
tickets can be purchased at the Healthy West Orange Heritage and Cultural Center during
operating hours.

Are tours rescheduled if it rains?

â–²

All tours are held rain or shine. We encourage you to check the weather on the
day of your tour and plan accordingly.

What is the cancellation policy?

â–²

All tour sales are final. Please let us know within 48 hours if you are unable to
attend a tour and we will send a raincheck for a future tour.

Should I bring anything on the tour?

â–²

If you plan to sample alcohol, you should have your driver’s license. If you plan to
eat/drink extra, please bring a form of payment. Comfortable shoes are also
recommended.

How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

â–²

Tours generally include 1.5 to 2 miles of walking spread over 2.5 hours. Guests
should expect to be standing or walking most of the time when you aren’t eating.
We walk at a moderate pace and there will be four, 20-minute seated food stops
along the way, in addition to stops of interest in Winter Garden.

Can I shop during the tour?

â–²

Several of our tours walk by tempting local boutiques, but we ask that you wait to
shop until after the tour so as not to hold up the group. However, if we stop for a
tasting at a retail shop, we do encourage shopping there and then!

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

â–²

Yes, it is!

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

â–²

We regret that we are currently unable to accommodate dietary restrictions,
allergies or food preferences. There are 5-6 stops, we ask that any person
with food restrictions or allergies be fully responsible for not eating offerings
which do not agree with them. We strive to serve the highest quality of food
out of each establishment. Changing local favorites for the group can be
challenging. Please contact us 48 hours in advance of the tour with severe
life-threatening allergies so that we can help you steer clear.

Are tours rescheduled if it rains?

â–²

All tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will
maximize our time indoors. We encourage you to check the weather on the day
of the tour and bring an umbrella if the skies are opening.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

â–²

Yes, bathrooms are available at all restaurants visited. Your guide will point them
out when you arrive.

Do we only walk around and sample food?

â–²

Absolutely not! Heritage Food Tours combines architectural commentary,
historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into the tours.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

â–²

Cash gratuities are greatly appreciated, but never expected. If you feel your tour
guide provided you with a great experience, then please tip accordingly.

Are gift vouchers available?

â–²

Yes, gift vouchers are available for all tours offered.

If a tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

â–²

Yes, tours have a waiting list. If a date and time are sold out, please contact us!

What happens if tours are cancelled?

â–²

We require a minimum of five (4) guests to conduct a tour. If the minimum is not
met, we will contact you at least 12 hours in advance and attempt to reschedule
your tour or offer a refund.

Where should I park for my tour?

â–²

Parking is provided specifically for the food tours behind the Healthy West Orange Heritage and Cultural Center located at 21 East Plant Street, Winter Garden FL 34787. We
meet all tours at the Train caboose in front of the building.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

â–²

We do our best to run tours in a loop. Your tour guide will ensure that the tour
ends near where it began.

Can I take pictures on the tour?

â–²

Yes. Cameras and filming are allowed (and strongly encouraged) during the tour,
and your guide will be happy to take group shots. If you post photos to social
media sites, please throw in #heritagefoodtours!

What is the tour age limit?

â–²

We respectfully ask for no children under the age of 10 due to the fixed menu
and alcohol pairings. Exception would be the Family and Fido Foodie tour offered
some afternoons. This tour is for dogs and kids to enjoy! We do not have a
maximum age limit provided the guest is OK with the walking requirement.

How big are the portion sizes? How should I prepare?

â–²

Food tours serve healthy enough portions that for most guests, a meal
afterwards is not necessary. We recommend eating a very light breakfast or
lunch before the tour, come ready to eat!

Are any adult beverages served on the tour?

â–²

All tours except for the Family Fido Foodie Tour have alcohol pairings at three (3)
stops included in the price. Water will be served to those not partaking in the
alcohol samples. You can also purchase additional food/beverages of your
choice at each stop; just make sure you pay your bill before leaving.

Are tours offered in languages other than English?

â–²

No, we only offer tours in English at this time.
